Sketch up is similar to Tux paint and Gimp and you can create 3-D models using the 3-D part of the program. The directions on Sketchup are step-by-step, so it is easy to understand. My student created a few of our art lessons on Sketch up using the Photoshop part of the program. I entered his digital Nonobjective art project into the art fair. Students can save their work to the desktop, or take a screenshot of the artwork they created, in order to save work in their digital portfolio. The age level for this program is middle school (5-8 grades) and high school (9-12 grades).
